after you have the right patch register your acount at the serverpage
register on the server and open the realmlist.wtf in your wow folder.
Delete
set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com

and enter:
set realmlist "the ServerAdress you found at statusnet"
now start wow and login.

This will make your graphics significantly better looking, to undo simply type:

It DOES lower your framerate a little, but in my case it was hardly noticable and i quite enjoy the new look
