The Game Maker's Apprentice: Game Development for Beginners
This includes all the resources from the CD and Version 6.1 of GameMaker with serial. There is a post here with version 7.0.5.0 but the book makes reference to version 6. Either will do. I just want to point out that Game Maker is for making 2D games.
