The basic principles behind playing the piano, or any type of electronic keyboard, remain unchanged. Also, the book begins with the assumption that the reader knows virtually nothing, but at the same time, avoids being condescending and progresses at a fairly comfortable pace. That comfortable pace does not last very long, however. While the first few chapters start out pretty basically, the knowledge is cumulative, and as a result, somewhat cumbersome as the book plods along. What should be extrapolated into 15 or at least 12 chapters instead picks up to a dizzying and disconcerting pace by Lesson (Chapter) 7, at which point aspiring pianists may hit a wall, and become too discouraged to continue.
