Each air battle in Aces of War takes place in the context of historic military campaigns of WW II, presenting a diverse range of missions for players to tackle. The missions are all arranged chronologically in a large timeline of the entire war campaign. Each mission is prefaced with a text explanation of that particular battle, as well as a mission briefing that gives players more detailed info on the battle ahead.
